Ancient amphora/pithos with loop handles, Mediterranean area, likely Roman, 1st century BC - 3rd century AD, terracotta, large wheel-thrown ovoid form jar with cylindrical neck and flared mouth, looped handles to sides, rounded base, used for the storage and transport of oil or wine, with modern metal fabricated stand, wear consistent with age and use including repair/ restoration in the 1970's, chips to rim, handles and body, etc., sold as is, 35" h. x 20" w.
