NEW YORK CITY – Several notable collectors were in attendance and many artworks were sold at the Tuesday, March 1, opening of The Art Show at the Park Avenue Armory – a successful launch of Armory Week 2016. The longest running art fair in the country, The Art Show draws its exhibitors from the ranks of the Art Dealers Association of America. Following overall market trends, this year the show offers mostly Post War and contemporary art with just a smattering of earlier works. Single-artist exhibitions and themed booths provide a deeper, more intimate exploration of the art, and knowledgeable dealers are easily accessible.
