POMFRET CENTER, CONN. – Collector’s Sales & Services held a July 17 sale of Eugenie Philbrick’s Cup Plate Collection that brought successful results.

Among the highlights was a rare, clear R-600, which sold for $1,904. An extremely rare, swirled opaque blue R-82 cup plate with a moderate amount of chips and mold roughness was won for $952, as was a rare, clear R-690 with only light mold roughness.

A big surprise was a unique, clear R-138 which had a number of bidders and realized a price of $840 even though it was cracked in two. A blue-green R-332D brought $728 and quite a bit of interest with eight bidders vying for ownership.

The cover lot, an extremely rare R-685, sold for $3,640.
