Splendid cars and marine objects established record prices at  Bonhams & Butterfields annual sale, April 30 and May 1, here  where a scrimshawed whale’s tooth by Edward Burdett sold for an  astounding $182,250.   The 1828 tooth depicted the English whaler Daniel IV afire  and the whaler Elizabeth in the background. The price is a  record for scrimshaw at auction.   A spectacular motorcar, a lustrous silver Tucker 48, one of 51  built and 47 that survive, stole the show on Saturday when it  sold for $461,500.
