Richard Villa died on Sunday, January 30, 2011, at his home after a 15-month fight against cancer. He was born in Hartford on November 7, 1939, to Elizabeth and James Villa. He owned and operated Villa’s Auction Gallery for many years in the northwest corner and was owner of Villa’s Corner Gallery in Winsted, Conn. Buying and selling antiques was his passion.

Richard is survived by his wife Judy of 49 years, two daughters, Brenda, and her husband Mike, and April, and her husband Tom, two grandsons, Travis and Jesse Schultz, a sister, Marie, and several nieces and nephews.

There were no calling hours. Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 5 Steele Road, New Hartford, handled the arrangements.
