Maximillion “Max,” the faithful canine mixed-breed companion of Terry Catalano and a regular among the crowd at Catalano’s Outer Cape Auctions, died on February 5.

Always present with the auctioneer, Catalano joked that when he was called out to view potential consignments, he and Max teamed up to become a “full service” auction house. “I would help you with your art collection and Max [always on the lookout for a tidbit] would clean your kitchen floors,” said the auctioneer.

Max was regularly on hand to greet people during Outer Cape’s auctions and was widely known throughout the antiques community. “The greatest curiosity to me was how many people knew Max’s name, but not mine,” said Catalano.

Always a gentleman, Max will be missed.
