LAS VEGAS – Morphy Auctions took a trip from its Denver, Penn., home base to set up shop in Las Vegas for its Coin-op & Advertising Auction from April 30 to May 3. The king of the auction was a Mills Lion Lung Tester penny arcade machine that led the auction at $184,500 ($150/300,000). It was in excellent working condition, made circa 1904 and sold with a documented provenance of more than 50 years. The iconic Lion contributed to an overall total exceeding $3.5 million; more on this and other outstanding lots to follow. Prices quoted with buyer’s premium as reported by the auction house.
