RICHMOND, VA. — Kehinde Wiley has endeared the art world with his modern interpretations of old master portraits using contemporary African American subjects. Watch Wiley as he talks about his method for “street casting,” or the process of choosing subjects for his paintings from public spaces. “Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic” is a 60-work retrospective at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
