Gary Erwin Samuelson, 55, a resident of Weston for most of his life, died April 22 in Danbury Hospital as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident earlier that day. Samuelson was born in Norwalk on October 15, 1950, a son of Jeanette Hallock Euler of Danbury and the late Erwin L. Samuelson.

He was self-employed in the construction business, specializing in Eighteenth Century restorations. Samuelson had a tremendous interest in the early history of the Weston, Redding and Georgetown area and possessed a great deal of literature and many photographs from that era. He restored antique furniture, including tables at the Weston Town Hall. He was a member of the Weston Historical Society.

A graduate of Danbury High School, class of 1969, he also received a degree in nursing from Western Connecticut University.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his two children, Jake Samuelson, who is currently serving in the US Navy, and Grace Samuelson of Weston; five sisters, Tarol Samuelson-Alvarado of Newtown, Karen Dobson of New Milford, Janice Samuelson of Florida, Dhyann Samuelson of Redding and Patti Samuelson-Moore of New Preston; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held April 26 in the Bouton Funeral Home, Georgetown. The interment followed in the family plot in Branchville Cemetery, Ridgefield, Conn.
