The Greenwich Police Department is investigating the theft of a bronze statue, valued at $45,000, from a hotel on September 11.
The figural fountain statue by Edward Henry Berge, titled “Wildflower,” is 42 inches tall, has a weathered verdigris patina and is inscribed and stamped “Roman Bronze Works.”
A hotel employee reported that the statue was taken from a garden area located on the west side of the hotel. It was last seen in the afternoon on September 11 by hotel gardeners, who the next morning noticed that it was missing.
Anyone having information about this item is asked to contact Detective Charles Brown of the Greenwich Police Department at 203-622-8085, referencing case #07-102589.
