August has come and gone and with it the light-hearted volumes that do no tax a mind struggling to manage the heat and humidity. Oh, the humidity. For September, we’ve been busy assembling an auction that should have something for nearly everyone.
Let’s start with history and by Campbell & Yorke (1812, 2nd in 8 vols.) “Lives of the British Admirals containing also a New and Accurate Naval History,” by Butterfield (1882, 1st & signed ) “Washington – Irvine Correspondence: The Official Letters,” by Scharf (1887, 1st) “History of the Confederate States Navy from its Organization to the Surrender of its Last Vessel,” by Coues (1898, limited edition) “The Journal of Jacob Fowler Narrating an Adventure from Arkansas through the Indian Territory,” Coues (1898, 1st) “Forty Years a Fur Trader on the Upper Missouri: The Personal Narrative of Charles Larpenteur 1833-1872,” by Hamilton (1941, limited signed edition) “Zachary Taylor: Soliderof the Republic,” by Lyon (1970, limited & signed) “The Private Journal of Captain G.E Lyon of HMS.
