GENESEO, N.Y. — On Thursday, March 27, Cottone Auctions will present a fine art and antiques auction, starting at noon. The sale features highlights from the estate of Sidonie Triepel Williams of Buffalo, N.Y., alongside other collections and private institutions. With more than 300 lots, the auction offers a selection of fine and decorative arts, estate silver, rare timepieces and Native American artifacts.
This sale includes a collection of Tiffany Studios lamps and accessories, such as a Tiffany Studios Arrowroot lamp with a 20-inch diameter shade, ex-Macklowe Gallery ($40/60,000), a Tiffany Studios Daffodil table lamp with a 14-inch shade on a Mushroom base ($35/45,000), a Tiffany Studios Greek Key table lamp on a rare Tyler stem base with an artichoke design ($25/35,000) and a Tiffany Studios 10-light Lily lamp ($15/25,000). Also featured is a monumental Tiffany Studios special order decorated Favrile vase, standing 18 inches tall ($20/30,000).
The auction presents a selection of Chinese and Japanese works of art, including a carved white jade statuette of Guanyin, the bodhisattva of mercy, from the Qianlong period ($8/12,000). An extensive collection of snuff bottles and netsuke carvings will also cross the block.
