Christie’s recent sale of American Indian art totaled $1,017,005.
The auction was 79 percent sold by lot and 90 percent sold by value.
The sale’s top three lots were a Sioux wood effigy feast bowl, which went to the US trade for $81,260; a San Ildefonso blackware jar, which went to an American private buyer for $57,360; and a San Ildefonso buff-on-sienna plate, which also went to an American private buyer for $45,410.
Prices include a buyer’s premium.
