– The legendary fishing tackle and sporting collection of “Doc” Herr was sold at an action-packed auction this past Friday, October 17, by Lang’s Sporting Collectibles.
More than 500 bidders squeezed their way into the auction hall, with Lang’s reporting that 469 bid numbers were issued for the sale. The auction featured 491 lots and went 100 percent sold.
The highlight of the sale was a rare Haskell minnow fishing lure that has repeatedly been described by the fishing collectibles fraternity as one of the three most sought-after lures in existence. The minnow was actively bid, selling at $16,500.
A complete review of the auction will appear in a future issue.
