Guests at the Dallas International Art, Antique & Jewelry Show were impressed at the size, quality and caliber of the show. With approximately 100 international exhibitors and more than 50,000 items for purchase, it was a show that exceeded all expectations.

    There is a small nest of antiques shows that run every year, without fail, and with little fanfare, but continue to draw a full slate of exhibitors and a faithful audience. One such show is the Wethersfield Antiques Show, an event that just celebrated its 11th year on Saturday, November 19. This event, a benefit for the Wethersfield Historical Society, hosted 42 dealers, filling three rooms of the Pitkin Community Center.

Stebbins Jr recounted his career, his interests and the course of art history. His doctoral thesis was ⁔he Life and Work of Martin Johnson Heade.†When asked, why Heade? Stebbins responded with a smile that John Wilmerding had already captured the Fitz Henry Lane market. Actually, Stebbins says he loves landscapes, and when he first saw a Heade prominently displayed at a Boston gallery, he was much moved by it. Although he is most often recognized as the expert on Heade, Stebbins†interests are wide and all-encompassing. He is very much a part of all he has met †a unique combination of art historian and curator, professor, authenticator, fund raiser, stimulator of donations, builder of collections and observer of the human condition.
