Vermont State Police are investigating the theft of items from a private residence here on December 25, Christmas Day.
Reported stolen were a Fender Telecaster electric guitar, Mexican made, cream body with black pick guard, maple fretboard with black “smudges” up the neck, a 1907 Indian Head $10 coin (no periods), an 1851 O Coronet-type $2.50 coin and a 10-ounce Engelhart silver bar.
Several pieces of jewelry were taken, including a gold bracelet (with “Katie” inscribed), a silver bracelet, ten silver bangles, two solid gold rings (with family insignia) and two gold thimbles. A small 1-by-2-inch pink enamel clock and a round Tiffany gold clock were among the items reported stolen.
Thieves made off with about $100 in cash in the form of rolled coins and loose change stored in a large plastic zip-lock bag. A white ivory sewing kit containing a gold thimble, scissors and needlecase were taken, as was a silver candy dish, two small goblets, two small pitchers, five silver plated plates, two tea sets and a tea strainer.
