To The Editors:
The antique auction community has suffered a tragic loss with the untimely passing of Time & Again Galleries auctioneer Alan Gusse. We will all miss Alan’s booming “Yogi Bear” voice. His flamboyant style and even cadence has kept auction crowds engrossed and excited about each and every item in each and every sale he commanded. It was evident that Alan liked being an auctioneer. Finding a replacement for Alan will be an arduous task, if not a virtually impossible one.
Alan called auctions for Time & Again Galleries as well as Bob Courtney, Great American Auctions and Ralph Fontaine and other auction houses in the Northeast.
Alan was joyous in his life and he possessed the gift of conveying that joy to everyone around him. Alan was 51 years old. He is survived by his wife Andrea and their 13-year old daughter.
As president of Time & Again Galleries, and on behalf of my staff and clientele, we send our condolences to his family and friends. We all share in your grief.
Sincerely,
Jeff Zimmerman
