Needlework Watch Samplers- Price Upon Request
West Pelham Antiques Pelham, Mass. 413-253-1847 firstname.lastname@example.org www.westpelhamantiques.rubylane.com Three rare and desirable needlework WATCH SAMPLERS dating to the early 19th century: Watch Samplers were love tokens, stitched by wives or daughters and meant to be carried inside a gentleman’s pocket watch case. Approximately 2" in diameter, very few have survived, for obvious reasons. The 3 shown here are representative of the various styles: 1) Short verses, sometimes Biblical, or terms of endearment; 2) Names or initials, sometimes with dates; 3) Floral images, often crewel work as is this example, on silk. These 3 are each framed and sold separately.
