MILLBURY, MASS. — On November 2, Thomas and Nancy Courtney auctioned more than 250 lots from the collection of the late auctioneer, Robert Courtney; it was the debut auction for the revitalized auction house that will conduct sales as Courtney Auctions, including more sales from Courtney’s collection. A three-piece spelter and white metal clock featuring Mephistopheles and two candle sticks with fallen angels earned top-lot honors, at $8,740, including buyer’s premium. Courtney confirmed after the sale it sold to a private collector. More lots from this auction will be featured in a forthcoming issue.
