KEENE, N.H. — The Spring Americana Auction took place online with Keene Auctions on April 29, presenting almost 400 lots for collectors of all levels. At the top of the sale hour was a Federal mahogany tall case clock from John Osgood (1770-1840), who lived and worked in nearby Haverhill, N.H., showing reeded columns and brass finials on its bonnet and painted birds and flowers on its face. The clock descended in the local Bernard family of Keene, N.H., which was detailed on a label on the interior of the case, and was then in the possession of the Keene Historical Society. It showed some wear and splits in the case bottom, but still achieved $3,750. More on this and other winning lots to follow.
