DOWNINGTOWN, PENN. — Pook & Pook’s Online Only Decorative Arts auction on June 21 showcased more than 800 lots of furniture, folk art, decorative arts of all kinds, as well as jewelry and couture. Although the majority of lots were American, the highest price was achieved by a German salt-glazed stoneware jug that multiplied its $400/700 estimate to $4,536. Dated 1594, the jug showed heraldic decoration on its body, a motto and profile cameos on the neck. It was in good condition with no apparent damages or repairs. Prices quoted with buyer’s premium as reported by the auction house. More on this auction to follow in an upcoming issue.
