Millea Bros. SELECT auction has dropped. Join us on June 11, 12, & 13 for a three-day auction event featuring an exceptional array of art, design, and antiques. Day 1 showcases standout Modernist and contemporary works, including illuminated lucite and bronze columns by Cesar and Jean-Claude Farhi, a Philippe Hiquily “Trefle” table, sculpture by Max Ernst and The Haas Brothers, and fashion from Sir Elton John’s personal collection. Day 2 offers Asian art, American and British antiques, and antiquities, including Qing porcelain jardineres, a Charles Baskerville screen commissioned by Vincent Astor, 19th c. sterling hunting buttons from Lord Torpichen, Roman glass, a Pre-Columbian Olmec pectoral, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony 1st edition, and a Steinway baby grand from the personal collection of Mica Ertegun. Day 3 presents Continental art and antiques, with treasures from the Collection of Alberto Pinto, including an Edgar Brandt cobra lamp, Atelier Rayssac side tables, a Camille LeFevre bronze, and a silver-mounted shagreen bowl. Art highlights include works by Degas, Gauguin, and Kokoschka, and a rare group of Fulco di Verdura gouaches with Astor provenance. The sale concludes with significant African, Oceanic, and Inuit works, including a Teke bronze collar, Berber ceremonial set, and a Yup’ik shaman’s mask, ex Christie’s.
