BEVERLY, MASS. — Kaminski Auctions will offer a selection of fine art, silver, jewelry and furniture from several distinguished New England estates in its auction on Saturday, May 4.
Among the highlights is a rare set of early Nantucket nested baskets and a vintage English bar adorned with stained glass. Another notable piece is a rare Gustav Stickley tabouret stand featuring a green Grueby center tile and an early compass, consigned from a Lynn, Mass., collection.
The fine art offerings include a mountain landscape watercolor by John Marin (American, 1870-1953), signed and dated lower right, and an oil on canvas titled “Moonlit Shore” by Dame Laura Knight (1877-1970). Works by prominent local artists are also featured, including “New England Coast,” an oil on canvas by William Lester Stevens (1888-1969), and “Primroses and Jonquils,” a watercolor on paper by Laura Coombs Hill (1859-1952), signed lower left and bearing labels from both the Cooley Gallery and Lincoln Glenn Gallery.
Furniture highlights include bedroom pieces by D.R. Dimes, such as a canopy bed and a tiger maple dresser, from a Salem, Mass., collection.
In addition to the live auction, Kaminski Auctions will host two online-only auctions on the AuctionNinja platform on Tuesday, April 30, and Wednesday, May 1. Both online auctions close at 8 pm. Kaminski now conducts monthly online sales on AuctionNinja, in addition to its regularly scheduled live estate auctions.
