RED HOOK, N.Y. — On January 4, George Cole Auctions & Realty is offering not only fresh-to-market merchandise, but also deacquisitioned items from the Pop Culture Museum of Kingston, N.Y. Items on offer include an Andy Warhol carrying case, number 527 of 2000, included with 10 years of Interview Magazine issues, White Zombie member Paul Kostabi’s guitar in a Lucite case, hand-painted Beatles Sargent Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band figurines, numbered 137 of 10,000; a black & white photo of Keith Richards, Mark Weiss and Motely Crüe and a very rare all-member signed record jacket from the band The Eagles.

The firm will also be offering an original Erté, numbered 300 and titled “Eyes of Jealousy,”and two works of art by Eugene Steltz: a large black and white portrait of a pop star and a white porcelain abstract table model. Also very important is a large rug with a Keith Haring design of The Statue of Liberty on it, only one of 10 known to be in existence.

Furniture offerings of note includes a rare Francine Knoll original marble top credenza from the office of Billy Coin. This will be the first piece belonging to Coin to hit the market. A great black marble-top chrome-based table from Bob Guccione’s penthouse office as well as posters and a very rare gold lamé Penthouse Racing jacket are also on offer. Additionally, a quantity of posters by Guccione, including the first ad to appear in the New York Times for Playboy, stating “We’re going rabbit hunting,” will be included. Early correspondence from the Penthouse to their customers will also be featured.
