Three Premier Plein Air Painters Exhibit at K. Nathan
LA JOLLA, CALIF. – K. Nathan Gallery, 7723 Fay Avenue, will have a special showing of small paintings by three of California’s premier plein air painters – Brian Blood, Ray Roberts and Daryl Millard – December 1 to 8.
“We are very excited about this new venue for showcasing these three highly skilled, talented artists,” said Keith Kelman, owner of the gallery. “All the paintings will be 12 by 16 inches in size and smaller.”
Scenes will range from northern to southern California, including the coasts of Carmel and Monterey, Pt Lobos, Big Sur, Laguna Beach and La Jolla. Also, there will be scenes of the poppyfields of Calaveras County, the Sierra Nevadas, Yosemite, the Laguna mountain area and the oak-dotted hills of central California.
Blood, an instructor at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco, has participated in more than 100 nationally juried exhibitions. He has received many awards, including the Yosemite Renaissance Award, the Pastel Society’s Award of Merit and the People’s Choice Award at the Carmel Plein Art Painters competition.
Roberts is a highly respected instructor who is nationally recognized as one of California’s finest artists. He has won many awards including “Best of Show” from the Society of American Impressionists.
Millard’s works are widely sought by local southern Californians and his paintings reside in many collections. A member of the California Art Club, he is known for his sensitive atmospheric renderings of Southern California.
