NEW YORK CITY — Joanne Creveling Lookstein died on November 26 at the age of 78 following a long battle with breast cancer.
She was the beloved wife of Franklin Lookstein for 45 years, devoted mother of Robert and Thomas Lookstein, adoring mother-in-law of Danielle Bajakian and Jaimee Lookstein, and loving grandmother of Olivia, Charlotte, Jordan and Emily Lookstein.
A pioneer in publicity and public relations, she was a founding partner of Halston Inc, in 1968, public relations director at Henri Bendel, 1970–1974, and owner and manager of Joanne Creveling Public Relations from 1975 to the present. In recent years, her clients were well known to Antiques And The Arts Weekly readers with many of her articles published to promote galleries and shows such as Angelo Donghia, the Winter Antiques Show, the European Fine Art Fair, the Grosvenor House Antiques Fair, Master Drawings, as well as auctions at Christie’s and Phillips and more.
The family summer cottage on Shelter Island was featured in numerous newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, British House & Garden and House Beautiful.
